§ About — The Institute A standards body, not a software vendor Antwerp · 2026
ESTABLISHED 2026 · ANTWERP

A standards body for the way
modern software is actually delivered —
analysis-first, AI-native, persona-aware.

Dossier № 01 Charter

Three obligations the Institute
holds itself to.

I.

Publish the methodology

AFD's seven-phase, six-gate framework is published as a single canonical work — the manuscript, the diagrams, the artefact library — kept in one place and updated in the open.

II.

Certify the practitioners

Four tiers, mapped to PRINCE2, ITIL and TOGAF where it makes sense. Practitioner, Professional, Leader, Trainer — each with a defensible body of knowledge.

III.

Refuse the theatre

No gamification, no learning paths that congratulate you for clicking. Reading, application, examination. Long-form essays in the Quarterly. Quiet, in writing.

§ A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR
“I started writing AFD because I was tired of watching teams ship the wrong thing, beautifully, on time. Agile told us to embrace change, but it never told us what to think about first. AFD is the answer I wish I'd had as a young architect — and the answer the industry needs now that AI is doing the easy part of the work.”
